Easy to make and even more delicious to eat

A healthy and delicious meal

Salmon is rich in Omega-3 Fatty Acids and serves as an excellent source of protein, making it a must-have on our plates. Various recipes offer us diverse ways to prepare this nutritious fish, ensuring we never get tired of its goodness. Among all the recipes you can find, I highly recommend you try this simple recipe which requires minimal effort without compromising on the taste.

Here's what you'll need to make this delicious Teriyaki salmon bowl:

  • 200 grams of salmon

  • 140 grams of rice of your choice

  • Broccoli

  • salt

  • pepper

  • sesame seeds

  • 1/8 cup garlic powder

  • 1/8 ginger powder

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 3 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

Directions:

  1. Start by preparing Teriyaki sauce. Put all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil with occasional stirring. Set aside and let cool completely. You can also make this sauce the day before and store it in a refrigerator once completely cooled at room temperature.

  2. If you bought skinned salmon, remove the skin and cut the salmon into bite-size pieces. Season it to taste with salt and pepper.

  3. Leave salmon to marinade in Teriyaki sauce for at least 45 minutes.

  4. Heat a pan over medium heat, add a drizzle of sunflower oil. Use a skimmer to scoop salmon bites from marinade and put them into the pan.

  5. Once the salmon is baked and gets glazed brown edges, pour the marinade over it and let it simmer for a few more minutes.

  6. In the meantime, cook rice and broccoli, as usual, to have them ready for serving.

  7. Serve salmon on top of rice, add broccoli, and sprinkle with sesame seeds to add just a little bit of crunch.

Additional notes

You can use store-bought Teriyaki sauce if you prefer or prepare this simple version of homemade Teriyaki yourself. I used this simple recipe that contains ingredients I use when I want to save some time - garlic and ginger powder instead of peeling and dicing fresh ginger and garlic. Of course, it's always better to use fresh ingredients, but sometimes time doesn't go in our favor. Using these ingredients you probably always have at home, you won't need to compromise on flavor but you will save yourself some time.

I trust you'll enjoy preparing this recipe!
